We have a Mumble server for voice communication. All guild members can get the address and the password from the private section of our forums. Mumble is a low latency and high quality voice server designed, but not restricted to gaming. It uses Speex 1.1 with noise suppression and other advanced features. As a nice bonus, it can display an overlay in games. Mumble is licensed under the open source license GPL.
SetupMumble 1.2.0 needed, http://mumble.sourceforge.net/
Then press "Connect". After you have done this, you can see Mumble's main window and drag and drop your user to the preferred channel. It is often recommened that you use push-to-talk to activate transmission, if you want to do so is in the end left to your own preferences, as long as you are able to set up voice activation in a resonable manner, i.e. without creating feedback. That's it... done, now play and have fun. |
